$25,000 NTD Innovation Prize
Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) affect more than one billion of the world’s most vulnerable people in some of the most underserved locations. In these contexts, people and health systems confront multiple challenges to find, diagnose, treat and manage the complications of NTDs. Consequently, this family of diseases can lead to increased poverty, stigma and isolation, malnutrition, and lifelong disabilities.
To combat and eradicate NTDs, the global health community needs new insights. Innovative solutions will help us break down existing barriers, accelerate progress, and engage all stakeholders in creating healthier communities.
The annual NTD Innovation Prize identifies and supports innovators with creative ideas to solve some of the most challenging issues posed by NTDs across the globe. One cash prize up to $25,000 is awarded each year. The prize, a project of American Leprosy Missions, is designed to encourage and support creativity and ingenuity, funding new ideas that can result in cost-effective, scalable and transformative impact for people affected by NTDs.
Congratulations to Dr. Tito Trésor Melachio and Mr. Joseph Pryce, winners of the 2019 NTD Innovation Prize, awarded at the 2019 NNN Conference. Read about their project and those of other 2019 finalists.
