Blah blah blah Setting Up eNews:

For in-depth instructions on how to setup emails in Luminate, reference Luminate Email coding Step by Step.

  1. Find copy, photos and links for the eNewsletter on Google Drive in

    1. Communications>Online Communications>ENews>Year>Month

  2. Login to Luminate

  3. Go to the Email tab, and click Email Campaigns

    1. Campaigns>TSM eNewsletter Campaign 2015>Manage>Messages

      1. Emails always live within campaigns

  4. Find and copy the latest message, or a message with the same amount of stories 

  5. Name it “Year Month eNewsletter” (Ex. 2016 September eNewsletter)

  6. If needed, make an extra copy of the email in case formatting is messed up or an error is made in the one you are coding.

  7. Click “Edit”

    1. Screen 1: Enter internal message name. Skip steps 2-5

    2. Screen 2: most options stay the same, option 5 isn’t used

    3. Screen 3: make sure TSM Responsive Standard Appeal Stationary is selected

    4. Screen 4: reference Luminate Email coding Step by Step and HTML Cheat Sheet for coding instructions

      1. The top story is the main headline story

      2. Always save each step

      3. Size photos by width (look at photo dimensions in the email template by clicking on the photo and clicking the small tree icon on the left side of the editing bar), usually 230w

        1. Always remember to update the photo hyperlinks

      4. To place copy, select “use Plain Text Editor”, find the current placeholder text, and copy the new text in place. 

      5. Don’t forget to update the FAQ and statistic at the bottom of the newsletter.

    5. Screen 5: click “convert to plain text”

    6. Screen 6: ignore the spam check report. Enter email addresses for testing and hit “send tests”. Ignore steps 3-4

    7. Screen 7: Click “approve” once message is reviewed and ready to send. Click “Set Up Delivery”

  8. You are now at the “Delivery Details” screen. Use the options on the left side of the page to schedule the email drop date and time, select target audience groups, and select do not email groups. Ignore the other actions. 

    1. Send Groups:

      1. eNews ONLY

      2. Any registered user

    2. Suppress: master suppression

  9. Click next. Click “Send”
